          On the one hand, universities have an important role in preparing students for employment.<\/strong> Many students invest considerable time and money in higher education because they expect their qualifications to improve their career prospects. Courses that include internships, practical projects and industry-related training can give students a clearer understanding of workplace expectations. For example, an engineering student who works on real-world projects may graduate with not only theoretical knowledge but also experience in solving practical problems. As a result, employers may find such graduates better prepared to contribute from the beginning of their careers.<\/p>\n

          On the other hand, focusing too heavily on immediate employment could make university education unnecessarily narrow.<\/strong> The labour market changes rapidly, and specific technical skills that are valuable today may become less relevant as industries adopt new technologies. Universities can therefore provide greater long-term value by developing transferable abilities such as critical thinking, communication, research and problem-solving. A graduate who has learned how to analyse information and adapt to unfamiliar situations may be able to move between different roles and industries more effectively. In this sense, broader education can help students prepare not only for their first job but also for future changes in their careers.<\/p>\n
